Four More Cartridges are Coming to Evercade This Year

Evercade Home Computer Heroes 1

Yesterday saw Evercade Showcase Vol. 2: Indie Special stream on YouTube, showing off some new content coming to Evercade platforms this year. Four new cartridges were announced, all due to arrive before the end of the year.

It really is a good time to be an owner of an Evercade, an indie console system dedicated to bringing classic titles back to life in collectible cartridge format. Six upcoming titles were announced at the first Evercade Showcase last month, and now four more are on their way. There’s a new Commodore collection two new 2-in-1s and, a first for the system, the first cartridge with just a single game.

Read on to find out more about the four new Evercade cartridges coming soon. You can give the entire showcase a watch in the video below:

Full Void

  • Releasing in October; pre-orders open from today

Full Void is a cinematic 2D platformer that released last week on Steam. That’s right: it’s not a retro title, and its launch on Evercade will mark the game’s only physical release. Not only is it the first game to get a dedicated Evercade cartridge, but it’ll be the first Evercade release to get a special edition, too. The standard edition will be available for £17.99, while a special edition will come bundled with a manual, artbook, poster and stickers for £24.99.

Home Computer Heroes Collection 1

  • Releasing in October; pre-orders open from today

Home Computer Heroes Collection 1 is the fifth entry into Evercade’s Commodore series. It bundles up seven modern games made especially for retro home computers: The Attack of the PETSCII Robots, Planet X2, Farming Simulator, Citadel Remonstered, Bridge Strike, Tanks Furry and The Sword of Ianna.

Goodboy Galaxy & Witch n’ Wiz

  • Releasing in December; pre-orders open in September

This is a two-in-one cartridge featuring Goodboy Galaxy, a canine space-faring adventure, and Witch n’ Wiz, an 8-bit puzzler about saving your friend from an evil witch.

Demons of Asteborg & Astebros

  • Releasing in December; pre-orders open in September

Developed by Neofid Studios, Demons of Asteborg and Astebros are a pair of dungeon-crawling metroidvanias designed especially for 16-bit home consoles. Expect boss battles, dungeon crawling and epic fantasy worlds.

Editor in chief // Kim's been into video games since playing Dizzy on her brother's Commodore 64 as a wee nipper. She'll give just about anything a go, but she's got a soft spot for story-driven adventures and open world escapades. If she's not gaming, she's probably cooing over pictures of baby animals or watching re-runs of Friends for the 137th time.
