If you’re looking forward to the release of Alan Wake 2, you’re going to have to wait a little longer: developer Remedy Games has just announced a delay.
The good news is that Alan Wake 2 has only been delayed by 10 days. It’s now set to release on 27th October instead of 17th October. It seems like a more strategic move rather than a cause of the game not being ready.
The announcement published today on the official Alan Wake Twitter account reads: “October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games.”
October also sees the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Metal Gear Solid – Master Collection, amongst others. And so while this move doesn’t make October any less crowded, it does at least push Alan Wake 2 to release after everything else.
Will it make a difference to launch day sales? Who knows. But we’re still excited to get our hands on Alan Wake’s next chapter. An extra 10 days doesn’t change that. You can read more about the upcoming sequel to the 2010 cult hit here.
