Endgame Gear XM2we Wireless Gaming Mouse Review – A Lightweight Wonder

Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse review

The Endgame Gear XM2we is the first wireless mouse we’ve used in a while, and it’s made us wonder: why have we waited so long to make the switch? This sleek, lightweight mouse is understated and simple, but it’s an absolute pleasure to use.

Despite being designated a “gaming mouse”, the Endgame Gear XM2we mouse doesn’t sport the gaudiness that often comes with the “gaming” moniker. Its design is rather traditional, but it’s one we love. It’s fairly large and chunky, fitting extremely comfortably in our hands. There are no gimmicks to be found here: no RGB lighting, no internal cooling fans, no over-the-top designs. It comes in two colours: black and white, and no matter which you choose, it looks professional and stylish on your desktop.

We were very surprised at how lightweight the XM2we mouse is upon getting it out of the box. Considering it packs in a battery it feels feather-light to pick up – it’s in fact 63g, which is much lighter than we’re used to. There are no additional weights to add here like you might find in other gaming mouse set-ups. And so if you’re used to something a little heavier, it might come as a bit of a shock.

But actually, once we got used to it, the weight of the XM2we proved to be a boon. It means it glides seamlessly over your mousemat and puts less strain on your wrist. It’s not too light that it feels cheap and flimsy: it’s comfortable to use while still feeling sturdy and well-made.

The Endgame Gear XM2we Gaming Mouse is equipped with two standard buttons, a scroll wheel and two buttons on the side. On the underside of the mouse you’ll find a button which lets you toggle the speed of the mouse on the fly, with several pre-programmed settings. In terms of responsiveness, we have no complaints with the XM2we, and we’ve experienced no delay due to the wireless connection. Simply plug in the USB adapter and the mouse will instantly connect – and the 1000HZ polling rate ensures a stable and optimal connection.

Of course, the downside to being wireless means that you’re going to have to charge the XM2we mouse every so often. The internal battery is 410mAh, and the official description of the mouse says it gives “one week of gameplay”. Of course, how long the battery lasts will depend wholly on how heavily you use your computer. But charging is no problem: it comes with a braided USB cable, so simply plug it in once in a while to keep the battery topped up. You can use it while wired, or just leave it to charge while you’re away from your desk.

It’s a little on the pricey side at £79.99, but the Endgame Gear XM2we is an excellent mouse, great for gaming, work or simply browsing the internet. Its understated design means its stylish and sleek, and its lightweight but sturdy structure makes it extremely comfortable to use. If you’re in the market for a high quality wireless mouse, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed with this.
