If you’re a fan of cute and cosy games, Critter Cove should be firmly on your radar.
Set to release in early access later this year on PC, and next year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, Critter Cove is a vibrant life simulation game that will also allow you to explore a picturesque tropical island. If that does sound like something you’d like to sink some time into, the good news is that you can sign up for an upcoming Steam closed beta test right now.

The Critter Cove closed beta will kick off in September, allowing players to go hands-on with the game before it launches. They’ll get to explore its tropical island and discover its numerous biomes, using the treasures they find to revitalise a town and make it flourish once again. Of course, there’ll be townsfolk to befriend, too, and you might even choose to recruit some of them.
To celebrate sign ups for the Critter Cove closed beta going live, developer Gentleman Rat and publisher tinyBuild have just released a new trailer for the title, which not only highlights some of its features, but also shows of its new botanical biome. Give it a watch below, and then visit the game’s Steam page to sign up for the upcoming beta if you’re keen to spend some time with it.
