The latest Gran Turismo 7 update, out right now, adds three new cars to the PlayStation-exclusive racing game.
Released back in March (check out our review here), Gran Turismo 7 has been receiving a trickle of new content since its launch. With 400+ cars in the game it’s still getting new vehicles, delivered via update, and the best thing is that the cars are free. Sort of.
This new update adds the Suzuki V6 Escudo Pikes Peak Special ’98, the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3 Version) and the 1932 Ford Roadster. Yes, you read that right, there’s another old-school vehicle in the game and you can bet we’re going to try it out. Maybe we’ll go the whole hog and dig out some driving gloves and a flat cap.
Aside from new vehicles, there’s a new international circuit, Watkins Glen International, located in the town of Dix. Yes, we’re easily amused and yes, we’re going to be chortling like children as we drive around it. On top of that, the update – dubbed Patch 1.17 adds a couple of new cafe menus, essentially extra challenges.
So why did we say the cars were only sort of free? Because while you’re not paying for this Gran Turismo 7 update, you do still have to grind to unlock cars. Or, and this is almost certainly what Sony is hoping for, you can get them by buying credits with real money. However, that’s not a great idea.
