Can You Pet Dogs in Diablo 4?

Diablo 4 Pet the Dog

The towns in Diablo 4 have a number of very good boys wandering around them. If you want to give them a good old love, read on to find out how to pet the dogs in Diablo 4.

There are lots of creatures in Diablo 4. Most of them you want to stick your swords into as soon as you meet them. But not all the creatures of Sanctuary are bad. Some of them are, in fact, very good boys and girls. In most towns of Diablo 4, you’ll find some very cute doggos wandering around, desperate for your attention. And here’s the good news: you can give it to them! Oh yes, you can indeed pet the dogs in Diablo 4. And once you know how, you’re not going to resist petting every dog you see.

To pet a dog in Diablo 4, you first need to get close to it. Once you’re stood next to one, bring up your action wheel by pressing ‘up’ on the d-pad. You need to select the ‘hello’ emote action. Your character will indeed say hello, as they always do. But they’ll also manoeuvre to be in front of the dog and give it a good old scritch. Aww.

You can pet dogs as often as you like, and any dog you see in a town can be paid some attention. Unfortunately, there are some animals – the non-lethal variety! – that you can’t interact with, like cows and deer. But those dogs? Pet them to your heart’s content.
